Dodge Ridge, Pinecrest

Dodge Ridge first opened its slopes to skiers in 1950 with less than 50 seasonal employees, a single lodge, chair lift and rope tow. That year Earl Purdy, Founder of Dodge Ridge, joined the few pioneering ski resorts operating in Northern California. Dodge Ridge was purchased in 1976 by the Helm Family and guided by the Master Development Plan became a progressive and sustainable business for Tuolumne County by continually expanding its market and carrying out capital improvements decade after decade.

Today, Dodge Ridge consists of over 300 seasonal employees, 862 skiable acres, 67 runs, 1,600 vertical feet, eight chair lifts, four surface lifts, two full service base area lodges, and one mid-mountain lodge. The most notable expansions began with the installments of chairlift 7 in 1985 and chairlift 8 in 1998, which subsequently tripled the skiable acreage available to Dodge Ridge skiers and riders.
