Cool off with a relaxing dip in one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. As one of two aquatic parks at Walt Disney World Resort, the complex offers an array of water attractions ranging from gentle wading pools to exhilarating thrill rides. Speed down five stories at almost 64 km/h (40 mph) on the Humunga Kowabunga waterslide, or take a chance snorkeling with dozens of sharks and stingrays at Shark Reef. Typhoon lagoon was absolutely amazing and was my water mad 8 year old nephews favourite Disney World attraction. The water park has something for everyone from relaxing on the beach area, to gliding around the lazy river on a float, to riding the huge water slides, to playing in the wave pool. It also has a devoted child water play area but we didn't go into this part of the park but it looked good from a distance. The park is very clean and well maintained as you would expect from Disney and there is a shop and plenty of food and refreshments available around the park which I felt were reasonably priced for Disney. The only thing we were not keen on at Typhoon lagoon was the changing rooms and the lockers. There were not enough showers in the ladies changing room and it was small, cramped and dingy. The lockers were expensive for their tiny size but good in that you could open and close them as much as you needed without having to pay for them again. The worst part about the lockers was that the path around them was in the sun so was burning hot making it very uncomfortable to use your locker once you had put your shoes inside. If the lockers had been larger and a better shape to fit items so it didn't take so long to get items in and out this wouldn't have been as big a problem. In the end we preferred to leave our shoes out of the locker and store them under our beach chairs so we could wear them whenever we needed to access our lockers. We spent several afternoons in Typhoon Lagoon and it was the perfect way to cool down and relax after spending the mornings in the parks. We look forward to returning and hopefully Blizzard Beach will be open on our next trip so we can compare the two.
Disney always has the best, happiest places. The water is not cold, it's warm and enjoyable. They allow outside food and beverages The locker fees are reasonable unlike others places. I love that you can order food with their app. Also have refills on beer love that. The park is always clean and well kept.
