A charming historic town with many sacred sites cradled in a verdant valley, Paro offers a scenic base to explore the important Buddhist attractions and pristine nature around it.
On the 6th (Sat), admire all the interesting features of Chele La Pass and then contemplate the long history of Rinpung Dzong. On the 7th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at National Museum, then steep yourself in history at Paro Taktsang, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kyichu Lhakhang.

New Delhi, India to Paro is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train, bus, and car. You'll lose 0.5 hours traveling from New Delhi to Paro due to the time zone difference. In November, Paro is a bit cooler than New Delhi - with highs of 23°C and lows of 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Sun) so you can drive to Thimphu.

Thimphu

The kingdom's capital and most modern city, Thimphu offers a mix of ancient traditions and modern commercialism.
Thimphu is known for scenic drive, parks, and museums. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: pause for some photo ops at Kuenselphodrang, contemplate the long history of Simtokha Dzong, tour the pleasant surroundings at Motithang Takin Preserve, and don't miss a visit to Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten).

You can drive from Paro to Thimphu in 1.5 hours. In November in Thimphu, expect temperatures between 23°C during the day and 5°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Punakha.

Punakha

The imperial past feels present in Punakha, where an impressive fortress testifies to the heyday of this former capital of Bhutan.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Thu): snap pictures at Punakha Suspension Bridge, take in the spiritual surroundings of Punakha Dzong, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chimi Lhakhang Temple. On the 12th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: make a trip to Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup nunnery.
