Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Sun): take an in-depth tour of Museo Larco, explore the ancient world of Huaca Pucllana, and then walk around Circuito Magico Del Agua. Keep things going the next day: wander the streets of Barranco, then stroll around Parque Kennedy - Parque Central de Miraflores, then get engrossed in the history at Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas, and finally admire the local landmark of Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor).
