Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): steep yourself in history at Fort de Vaux, then steep yourself in history at Douaumont Ossuary, and then get engrossed in the history at Verdun Memorial. Keep things going the next day: admire the striking features of Cathedrale Notre Dame de Verdun, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Saint Mihiel American Cemetery, and then witness the site of a historic battle at La Tranchee de Chattancourt.
