Trip Planner: Europe / The Netherlands / South Holland Province / The Hague / Japanese Garden
Visit an oasis of tranquility at the Hague Clingendael Park's Japanese Garden. The garden was established by Baroness Marguerite Mary van Brienen, known as Lady Daisy, who made several trips to Japan in the early 20th century and brought back authentic works of art, as well as garden bridges and the pavilion. In addition to exploring the rich collection of plants, you can admire a variety of lanterns, statues, and a Shinto shrine. The garden is usually open seasonally--but the schedule may vary due to weather conditions. Admission is free. Before you head to The Hague, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly The Hague trip itinerary maker website, to make sure you see all that The Hague has to offer, including Japanese Garden.

This is a beautiful garden and definitely worth seeing. Keep in mind that it is VERY busy as it is only open for a very limited time annually. If serenity is what you are after, you won't find it here. Taking photos is difficult as there are so many visitors at any given time. Despite all that, it still ia worth a visit. If visiting in autumn, keep an eye out for the magical mushrooms growing along the way.
Beautiful place for a walk. It is only open 10-16 for 8 weeks a year (May-half June, second half of October). Else the park around is also beautiful, and I would recommend spending time for a walk there as well. The Japanese garden is not that big and more busy with people, but still interesting and a little exotic.
