Joods Historisch Museum
Housed in Amsterdam's Jewish Quarter, Joods Historisch Museum documents the hardships and journeys of the nation's religious and cultural minority through artifacts, art, and music. Visit the museum, located in a series of former synagogues, and explore its rotating collection of more than 11,000 objects. Look for the themed exhibitions focusing on the customs and traditions of Judaism, as well as their place in Dutch history. Join one of the museum's guided tours, each with a different focus, to gain a more in-depth understanding of specific topics in Dutch-Jewish history. Temporary displays and galleries make up a great deal of the museum's offerings, so be sure to check the website to see which displays are open during your visit. Put Joods Historisch Museum into our Amsterdam trip planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Amsterdam.

It's a great museum based in the two huge synagogues. It represents in a short form a review of the Dutch Jewish culture and history, from the 15th to the 20th century. The Portuguese synagogue is the orthodox one. Both were fascinating.

You pay 17€ for entrance and it includes the beautiful portugese synagogue. This museum has an incredible children section with a lot of crafts, music room, challah baking activity, VR and more. My son was so happy and asked to comeback everyday :) it is very interactive and informative for children and adults :))
