Venture beneath the earth to see one of the world’s largest subterranean lakes at Cuevas del Drach. The four caves sit 25 m (82 ft) underground and stretch 2.4 km (1.5 mi). Marvel at the impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations that adorn the cave floors and ceilings. Take a guided tour through the caves, which includes a boat ride across Martel Lake and ends with a four-piece live classical concert. The paths can be quite steep and slippery, so be sure to wear good walking shoes. To visit Cuevas del Drach and other attractions in Porto Cristo, use our Porto Cristo trip builder tool.

  • A very beautiful site, unfortunately very popular I went there for the first time in 2020, when tourism was low. It was a huge surprise to discover the beauty of this buried cave as well as the magnificent sound and visual show that is played there. Indeed, during the visit, you will be invited to sit down while the lights go out. An orchestra will then play classical music as it passes by on small lighted boats. Between the resonance of the cave, the soft notes of music and the boats gliding on the water, the trip is guaranteed. Going back to this place 2 years later in 2022, I realize that the experience is quite different when tourism is at its peak. People rush to take pictures and sometimes block the accesses by doing so, or applaud the end of the show whereas this one is not finished yet. Little things that prevent from living the experience fully. That's why I advise you to go in the morning, when it's less crowded. It remains a very beautiful site to discover, alone, as a couple or with the family.
  • An amazing experience! Such a great natural wonder. It is also so cool down there. They have a fairly large lake at the bottom and then they have seating and you listen to classical music played live be musicians in a body on the water. And you walk back across the lake in a safe walkway. Takes an hour and well worth it. Get tickets for the first showing and get there 15 minutes early to be at the front, or near the front, of the line. Then at the end they have a shop, pizza, crepes, restaurant with a bar to enjoy.
