Hike along Canyon de la Calobra, an 8 km (5 mi) long limestone canyon carved through the Tramuntana Mountains by the Torrent des Pareis, or Twin Rivers. The canyon is reachable by boat from Port de Sóller, as well as by land--but the latter route is not for the faint of heart. Parts of the steep road are sliced deep into the limestone, while others emerge onto cliffs offering hair-raising views of the rugged landscape as it descends rapidly toward the sea. Make the drive yourself or take advantage of the bus that makes the route. Going by boat offers its own vivid views of the island's otherworldly scenery, without the great heights. We went originally to enquire about doing the blue gorge as you end up in the same place but we could not find the starting point etc . Anyway it’s a brilliant drive to get here over the mountains...
