Visit Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe to see its "walk-in monuments"--fully furnished period rooms, from Renaissance to Rococo salons to a contemporary kitchen, that clearly illustrate the different ways of life in Europe over the last 500 years. The museum also holds an extremely varied and extensive collection of art and objects from throughout history and around the world. You'll see ancient Greek armor, medieval chests, Egyptian burial objects, Japanese swords, funky transistor radios, 18th-century women's shoes, and more. Different exhibits feature an enormous collection of more recent art, furniture, and design object--including a photography exhibit with more than 75,000 works. The fashion collection spans from the 18th century to modern day. Take an advance look at the website, which offers a thorough overview of the many exhibits. After having checked the website we looked forward to visit the Museum der Bildenden Kunste. The idea of having different themes (design, photo, posters, fashion etc) sounded like a very nice idea...

Loved the museum which has so many different types of sections and you can easily spend 4 hours going through them. A must visit among the many Hamburg museums. Another nice thing is they have kept small seating areas for the guests in every other section as it's helpful to relax in between ☺️
I absolutely loved it! I didn't imagine there would be art pieces from all over the world so I was very pleasantly surprised. The rules for visitors within the museum were very strict but understandable. A great visit!
