Was there in 1969 while stationed in Wildflecken. A liter of beer cost 1 German Mark. You paid a 1 Mark deposit on the mug. You could keep the mug or turn it in and get your Mark back. At that time a Mark was worth $0.25. I think the beer was 14% alcohol. For fifty cents you felt pretty good when you left. Best beer I ever had anywhere.
