Examine the anthropological exhibitions at the important Kura Hulanda Museum, which focuses on the origins of man, the African slave trade, and West African empires, among other subjects. Situated on the site of a former slave yard, the emotionally testing museum recounts a brutal history and illuminates humanity’s capacity for violence and exploitation. You’ll have the chance to inspect letters, drawings, and other artifacts from the era, giving you a direct perspective on a bygone era. Consider hiring a tour guide at a small extra charge to get an in-depth explanation of the exhibits. Fascinating display of a history that has too often been brushed under the rug and locked away. We all need to be aware of our dark history and the atrocities that took place during the Middle Passage and slave trade. This museum displays a fascinating collection of artifacts from that time and presents them in a way that makes you feel immersed in the time period. I did not know about this museum before traveling to Curacao and was surprised when someone mentioned that a slave museum was located in the heart of town so I was excited to visit, as slave museums are such a rare thing to see (I believe only a few exist in the US). It was a privilege to be able to visit this museum and I recommend it to anyone in the area with an interest in history.

Kura Hulanda Museum, takes you back in to the times where civilization started. Hundreds of Artifacts of thousands of years of antiquity, gives you a glimpse of how the human race developed, lived, shared and communicated among themselves and with other species. The progression of the human race in the ages past until our days. If you are visiting Curaçao, this Museum is a must seen for historians and those who want know the history of the human race. You will definitely be definitely impressed. I always recommend this place to my guests who ask about museums on Curaçao.
