Insectarium de Montreal displays both live and dead insect collections from all around the world, from giant stick insects and furry spiders to monarch butterflies and jewel-like beetles. The largest insect museum in North America (which from a bird's perspective looks like a stylized insect), is home to nearly 250,000 specimens of living and naturalized insects. Observe busy ants picking leaves and maintaining the nest on an anthill. Learn more about arthropods, and explore shapes and colors of specimens displayed in cases and vivariums. Wander through a prairie to a pond filled with freshwater wildlife in the discovery zone. Kids will like the fun zone with games on the theme of insect habitats. • This place was soooo cool. So may bugs of all shapes and SIZES. My 4yo girl really loved all the crazy bugs and insects this place had. It really was fun to visit.  more »
  • Tourist brochures suggested a visit here but when we arrived it was closed for renovations and not opening again till 2021. SERIOUSLY!?  more »

  • Quite day at the Insectarium. It meant no long lines to peer into the glass and search for the hidden insects. Beautiful displays and layouts. Very family friendly and accessible. Easy parking. Your ticket is hood for both the Instectarium and the Gardens.
  • Lots of bugs, not necessarily something that will entertain young children for a long time. It's a quick visit, about 30 minutes. This was the final day, as they are closing to set up a new exhibit to open for 2021.
