House of Manuel Mujica Lainez, La Cumbre

Take a trip back into Argentina's literary heritage at House of Manuel Mujica Lainez, once the primary residence of famous writer Manuel Mujica Láinez. Built between 1915 and 1920, the house offers a well-preserved example of bold domestic architecture from the time, with its whitewashed walls and many terracotta roofs. Inside, the building houses the writer's furniture, clothes, ornaments, and artworks, positioned in situ across the many rooms. The landscaped gardens--the work of architect and landscaping artist Carlos Thays--include ornamental features, such as fountains and statues, connected by pleasant walking routes.
