Housed in the stately Ferreyra Palace, Museo Evita en el Palacio Ferreyra is worth a visit to see both the architecture and the exhibits held within. The building, a Beaux-arts mansion designed by architect Ernest Sanson from France, was built between 1912 and 1916 as a private residence for a wealthy local doctor, Dr. Ferreyra. In 2005, the government bought the mansion and began renovations to create the museum. Across 12 exhibit halls, the museum displays more than 500 works of art, including pieces by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Francisco Goya, and Gustave Courbet.
