Los Tuneles de Taninga, Cordoba

An engineering feat provides access to the city, known as Los Tuneles de Taninga. The five tunnels were built in the 1930s in an effort to connect the city to the rest of Cordoba province. The dirt road, National Route 20, that connects the tunnels is flanked by low desert brush and surrounded by the expansive landscape of the rising hillsides. Journey to the top through each of the five tunnels by car or by bus; the view at the top will not disappoint. On the way, watch for a deserted quartz mine and a small village with a handful of local restaurants.
