Colegio Nacional de Monserrat
Take a tour of the atmospheric corridors and peaceful courtyards of Colegio Nacional de Monserrat, one of the longest-established educational institutions in South America, and one of the most prestigious in Argentina. Founded by the Jesuits in 1687, the college was passed to the Franciscan Order during the 18th century, before becoming public in 1854. Familiarize yourself with the history of the institution, and the lives of its most famous alumni. You'll gain a sense of the school's influence on national events, including the rise of nationalism in the lead up to the 1943 coup, and explore the troubled legacy of colonialism in Argentina. Using our custom trip planner, Cordoba attractions like Colegio Nacional de Monserrat can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

This is a very important place in Argentine history. It is a world heritage site and is part of the Jesuit block. I tried many times to visit it with no luck. Today, as indicated on the website and by the security guard, I went at 4:00 p.m. for the guided tour. I was surprised when they told me there were no visitors. Faced with my claim, they agreed to do the guided tour. It was not a good time. Obviously they do not understand the value that the place has since they do not care about respecting the schedules that they themselves detail. These places establish communication with people, they make us proud, they are part of our identity. It is our right and obligation to know them. They should be honored to be able to tell their story. A disappointment to have to complain so that they deign to explain during a moment that did not last more than 15 minutes.

One of the positive things that the pandemic left me, being able to walk calmly through the streets, which allowed me to enjoy the architecture of these historic buildings and especially the detail of the sidewalk, where the shadow of the facades is reflected. A marvel in the Cordovan capital..
